    Verification is where we confirm your identity. This is a process which enables us to maintain a safe environment for both renters and owners here on Fat Llama. Your request is only passed to Owners if we verify you, so it’s an important step that we try to make as simple as possible!   • What happens if my rental request doesn’t get Verified?
    If we can't verify your transaction and your Trustworthy Score isn't high enough, we'll cancel rental request for you and refund you the full amount. Can I reapply? It depends on why we weren’t able to verify you the first time.  If it’s because you didn’t have the required documentation but now you do, then yes.   • Why am I being asked to submit personal information?
    Why am I being asked to send in social media links? Social media can be used to help establish someone’s identity and/or work, which helps to improve their Trustworthy Score so that we can verify the transaction. Why am I being asked to verify my place of work?  We might ask you to verify your place of work in order to boost your Trustworthy Score. If you're currently not working or you're self-employed, don’t worry, we'll try to verify the transaction with different information.Few readers
  • I’ve already verified. Why do I have to verify again?
    We verify transactions, not users, and our verification requirements vary for different types of rental request. Higher value items may require a higher Trustworthy Score.  That means that if you're first verified to rent a skateboard, you might have to be verified again in order to rent a high-value cinematography camera.   • Insurance Checklist for Renters
    When you borrow items that are above our threshold, we will ask for a proof of insurance. For those who are requested to obtain insurance, this is the last stage in getting your rental request approved by Fat Llama.  We are happy to accept insurance that meet the following criteria: It must have a policy covering rented items.   • Why was my rental request rejected by Fat Llama?
    If your rental request has been rejected by Fat Llama in the verification stage, it means that based on the documentation we have received, we have not been able to raise your Trustworthy Score to a sufficient level to approve the value of the rental you have requested. Our algorithms factor in multiple data points to determine a user’s potential trustworthiness.
