Brand new app and web, what is going to change?



We are excited to introduce our new app and website launching on June 24th 2024, packed with many improvements, including new features and processes. Below, you'll find answers to the most common questions about these updates and our platform. If you need further assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Signup Options



Facebook login removed



We have replaced the Facebook login option with Apple login to enhance security and convenience. You can also still sign up using your email and password or with Google login. If you previously used Facebook to create your account, you will need to enter your email address and request a password reset to be able to login to your account again.

Change in Payouts



When will I receive my payout?



Payouts to owners will be initiated after the rental period has ended. Typically, you can expect the funds to land in your account 1-3 days after the rental is completed.

Prices on Items



How are rental prices structured?



We now offer 1 day, 3 day, and 7 day pricing options for items. This allows owners to have more control over their pricing and incentivize longer rentals. For example, a 3-day rental can be discounted compared to the daily rate, which is ideal for weekend rentals from Friday to Sunday.

How is the best price calculated for renters?



Our price calculator automatically computes the cheapest price for renters based on the 1 day, 3 days, and 7 days prices provided by the owner.

Cancellation Terms



What are the cancellation policies?



Fat Llama now implements new cancellation terms: Flexible, Medium, and Strict. The default for new items is Flexible, and all existing items on Fat Llama will get the Flexible cancellation terms.

- Flexible: Cancellations made 2 days prior to the rental period will be fully refunded. Cancellations made the day before the rental will receive a 50% refund.
- Owner Cancellations: Always 100% refunded.

Multiple Locations



Can my items have multiple pickup locations?



Yes, an item can be available for pickup at multiple locations, such as your home and office. The exact address will be shared with the renter once the rental is paid and har passed verification.

Handed Out and Returned



How do I manage the status of my rental items?



Owners can mark items as "handed out" when the renter picks them up and "returned" when they are brought back.

Search Functionality



How can I search for items?



Our search functionality now only includes a list view, showing items closest to your set location. The map search feature has been removed.

Contact Information



When can I share contact information?



For everyone's safety, contact information will be withheld until the booking is confirmed (paid and passed verification). If verification is not passed, contact information will not be shared to prevent any pressure to proceed with the rental.

Price Recommendations



How do I set the price for my items?



When creating or editing an item, you will see recommended prices based on similar rentals in the same category. These recommendations reflect the market rate for that category, ensuring competitive and accurate pricing.

Offers



Can I offer discounts or bundle items?



The offer feature has been removed. However, owners can add multiple items to a rental request and adjust the price before it is paid.

Blocking Dates on Multiple Items



How do I manage availability for multiple items?



Owners can block dates on multiple items to prevent rental requests for those dates. The blocked dates will not appear as available in the calendar. There is also the option of blocking dates for just one specific ad.

Holiday Mode



Can I take a break from renting out my items?



Yes, owners can set themselves on holiday mode for up to two weeks at a time. During this period, renters will be notified that responses are unlikely, and all notifications from Fat Llama will be paused.

Pausing Items / Users



Can I pause my items or account?



The pausing feature has been removed. Instead, items can be published or unpublished. Unpublished items will not be visible to other users.
