When creating a listing on Fat Llama, you will need to fill out several required fields. The listing creator form is user-friendly and will enable you to publish rental ads quickly and efficiently. Here’s what the form consists of:
Select category
The category selector helps you navigate to the most relevant category for your item. You can also use the search bar at the top of the popup to quickly find the appropriate category.
Describe your item
In this section, you will select a fitting title and describe the item in as much detail as possible. Providing an accurate and thorough description of the item you are renting out will help potential borrowers understand exactly what they are getting. Be sure to include key features, specifications, condition, and any special instructions or requirements. A well-crafted description can enhance interest and trust, making it more likely that your item will be rented quickly.
Pictures
Upload pictures in landscape format (4:3). We recommend adding several images that accurately show the condition of your item, including any imperfections. Take photos in good lighting to ensure clarity. Be sure to upload images of the actual item the borrower will receive, rather than stock images, to provide a true depiction of what they will get.
Price
Select your rental prices. While you have full control over what you charge, lower prices often lead to a higher overall rental income. You can also offer discounted rates for longer bookings. The rental price is calculated based on the lowest possible price level. You will be able to set prices for 1 day, 3 days, and 7 days. If you’re unsure what to charge, you can use our built-in price suggestion tool to find competitive prices within the selected category.
Where can the item be handed over?
Here you can add different locations where you are willing to meet the borrower to hand over the item. Popular options include your home address and work address. Please note that your address is never shared with anyone until a booking has been confirmed.
Cancellation Terms
Select your desired cancellation policy. The most popular option on the platform is the Flexible policy. Each policy comes with a short description to help you make an informed decision.
Value of item
Add your estimated value of the item. What do you believe is the current market value of this particular item?
Now that you have filled in all the relevant information, go ahead and publish your listing!
